Hi there
Been having great trouble trying to get version 3.0.x installed.
I had been using a older version - version 2.x.x [cant remember specifically which one, though I may be able to find out if needed] - with Akobook [an older version], and i decided to upgrade them to the latest versions.
Alas, I wish I hadn't as i just cannot get Security Image 3.0.6 to work. I tried 3.0.5 first then noticed that within hours of trying it, 3.0.6 was out hehe but that didnt help either.
I can only get the freecap plugin to display [but not actually work - more further down on this] - which is annoying as I think its a little too hard for users [well, the users i have] to be able to read properly. The other two just show a X and the alternative text instead of the graphics - odd as I dont have a problem displaying jpg, gif, or png usually :S
when trying the freecap one, it doesn't want to know. At first I thought it was because I hadnt been entering the text case sensitive, but then i tried that too and unless i really am quite blind, that doesnt work either.
I dont know whether its down to the hardening of Joomla 1.0.10 but it's particularly annoying and of no use at the moment. What even more annoying is that if i disable it or uninstall it, the amount of spam that gets entered in the guestbook [akobook] is not good lol
Can you please help me out as I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem? :S
PS I've tried other suggestions like permission problems and so on, but i haven't found any problem changing the config file, etc.
Take a look at: www. threeminutewarning .co .uk and have a try at the guestbook.
BTW I use the Joomla <> SMF Bridge which works a treat for seemless authentication between Joomla & SMF, and I've attempted to "plug in" security images manually - by entering the code which seems to be in the relevent place, as per the normal instructions detailed, but i've disabled it in the config as I dont think its quite right. You can find the bridge here:
